Ingredients
- 2 cups Egyptian rice
- 3 loaves stale baladi bread, cut into squares
- 500g beef (shank or stew cuts), boiled and sliced
- Oil, for frying
- 6 cloves garlic, crushed
- 1 tbsp vinegar
- 2 cups tomato sauce
- Salt, black pepper and cumin
How to make it
- Fry the stale bread squares in hot oil until golden and crunchy.
- Boil the beef with an onion and spices until tender, keeping the broth.
- Cook the rice normally and set aside.
- Fry the garlic in a little oil, then add the vinegar and tomato sauce; simmer for 5 minutes.
- Arrange the fried bread on a serving plate, top with the rice and a ladle of the beef broth.
- Pour the garlic-vinegar tomato sauce over the rice, top with the sliced beef and serve hot.
