Ingredients
- 500g bread flour (type 00)
- 325ml warm water
- 7g instant yeast
- 10g salt
- 1 tbsp olive oil
- 400g San Marzano tomatoes, crushed
- 250g fresh mozzarella, torn
- Fresh basil leaves
- Extra virgin olive oil, for drizzling
How to make it
- Mix the flour, yeast and salt, then add the water and olive oil to form a dough
- Knead for about 10 minutes until smooth and elastic
- Let the dough rise, covered, for 1.5-2 hours until doubled
- Divide into two balls, rest 20 minutes, then stretch each into a thin round
- Spread crushed San Marzano tomatoes over the dough
- Top with torn mozzarella and bake in a very hot oven (250C+) for 8-12 minutes
- Finish with fresh basil and a drizzle of olive oil
